Our Little Skater Dude!

Zain started skateboard lessons tonight! He recently got a new big boy skateboard and has been soooo excited for his first lesson...in fact, he slept with his skateboard and attempted to ride it every morning when he woke up at 6 am. I thought he was going to break his arm before lessons even started, he was on his board so much! It was pretty cute! But when tonight actually came, a little bit of fear set in. With the help and confidence from his coach he did great though (especially for his first lesson). He can't wait for the next one now! I'm sure he'll be doing ollies in no time...hehe!!

New Beginings

Nick said good-bye to his job of 6 1/2 years at The Montage Resort & Spa on Tuesday night...and hello to his new position as General Manager at Nick's Laguna Beach restaurant! There were so many mixed emotions for him, but above all we welcome this new chapter into our lives with excitement, rejuvenation and passion. He said farewell with a huge party and lots of fun, food, drinks and dancing with good friends. It was a great night and it truly meant the world to Nick to see how much he was going to be missed by everyone at The Montage.

Summertime Happenings!

Wow, it is amazing how fast the summer is flying by! The kids are sure having an eventful and fun-filled summer so far. Aside from all of the fun days at summer camp (beach, pool, Knott's, baseball games, etc.) we are really enjoying the summer as a family as well. Here are a few things we have been up to...

Backyard fun with friends of course! Zain was the first to master the slip-n-slide...after mom showed him how it was done!!

Swimming lessons twice a week. Zain is officially a swimmer now and Masyn is learning the butterfly!!

Too funny not to post!

After a long day at school (a whole 2 hours), playing at the lake (5 hours), it was the pizza that knocked him out cold! And he only had one more bite to get dessert!! Zain is too funny...he fell asleep in between the couch and the coffee table, knees up, hoodie on, boxers on, and pizza on his chest...typical man!! Love it!

Movin' On Up!

Yeah, school is out and summer is finally here! Masyn celebrated her last day of Kindergarten today with crafts, games, activities and a hotdog lunch. I was able to volunteer and spend the day with over 90 Kindergartener's. It was so much fun to see how excited they all were for their last day of school, but even more to see the proud looks on everyone's faces. Masyn has learned so much in only one year...how to read, add, subtract and so much more. We are so proud of her! It's amazing to see how much she has truly grown in this past year. Zain completed his first year of Preschool with flying colors. His teachers just adore him and he looks forward to school daily. His excitement for school and everything in life is contagious. Here is a picture of him on his first day of school as well as a recent picture of him. Zain will move up to Pre-K next year....go Zainers!!

Old Friends, New Memories!

Last Sunday, we went down to Oceanside to visit with some friends from the good ole', fun San Diego days! My how life has changed!! Anyway, we all had a great time together BBQ-ing, taking the kids to the park, watching the older boys (they will always be boys, never men...hehe) eat it at the skate park and just watching how well the kids interacted together.

Go Zainers!! He is addicted to his scooter, and he sure did awesome trying those ramps out. Masyn's boyfriend, Nathan...she likes the younger boys!

Boys will be boys...I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself while riding a dirt bike for the first time!
