Monterey Memories

After 15 plus years, the kids and I were finally able to make it up to Monterey to see the Rainwater (my dad's) side of the family. I remember spending a lot of time in Monterey as a kid; playing with cousins, roaming around the farm and so much more! Looking back on it as an adult now, there are so many magical memories that I will forever cherish. And I was so happy to finally be back, and for my kids to have a little glipse into the magic Monterey brought me...plus more! Here are some pics from our little excursion:

Smitty, Uncle Gary and Masyn taking a walk on the property.
"The Girls".... Me, my mom, Rachelle, Aunt Debbie, Grandma Rainwater and Masyn.
Although this pond was not there when I was a kid, it will give Masyn and Zain some new memories of their own. We can't wait to go back!
Fun, fun, fun...need I say more!

We ended the day with a little lunch at the wharf.

Oklahoma

An unexpected death in Nick's family brought us back to Oklahoma last week...his grandma (Ima Jean), on his dad's side, passed away in a horrific car accident! Aside from all of the details and sadness his entire family experienced from her passing, there was one thing that kept everyone at peace...her love for God! In the few memories I have with Ima Jean, the one thing that stands out the most is her passion, love, devotion and trust in the Lord. She will be missed and remembered always by many!

The BIG 3-0!!

On April 30th I turned 30 (my golden b-day)!! I really didn't want any huge party's or a big fuss...after all, I honestly just wished I could stay 29 forever!! But to my surprise my wonderful husband had something else in mind...he planned a weekend away in Beverly Hills! I had the most amazing and relaxing birthday ever, and most importantly I got to spend it with the one person who makes me the happiest ( I love you baby)!! Here are some pics from our weekend away:
Relaxing by the pool of our ultra-modern hotel (SLS Hotel)
Chef's Tasting Menu's two nights in a row!
Oh, and we can't forget how to end an amazing weekend...with a little bungee jumping!! (take a peek at our photobucket account for all the videos...I did 4 jumps)
Thanks for the best 30th birthday ever honey, I LOVE YOU!!

The Bridge to Nowhere...again!!

What better way to celebrate turning 30... than hiking 5 miles, crossing a river 6 times, jumping off of a bridge over a boulder infested river with wet shoes and then hiking 5 miles back to our car (and you thought I was going to say a massage)!! We took our second trip to "The Bridge to Nowhere" and it was even more amazing the second time around. There is just something about the hike that makes it all so magical, and somehow okay to jump off a bridge over 100 feet tall! The adrenaline pumping through my body for the first jump was just as strong for the fourth jump...yes, I did 4 jumps!! Don't get me wrong, I was petrified for all four of them, but at the same time the thrill of jumping again kept me going. Take a peek at our videos below. Nick did the forward jump connected to a body harness and I did the forward jump connected at my ankles! Go to our photobucket account for all the fun videos and pictures. And for those of you who who think I am crazy...I promise I did my research first (the company we went through has a PERFECT safety record and uses the safest and most expensive bungees manufactured).
